Are there any characters that are not allowed in the category column?

2017/2/10 Created.
2019/6/28 Updated.

Do not use the following characters.
  • Tabulation
  • Spaces before and after the category value (double-byte and one-byte characters)
If the category values are separated by "\", do not include spaces before and after "\".
  • Vertical bar(|)
It is recommended not to use the following characters. If you want to use them, please use double-byte characters.
  • Line breaks, Semicolons (;), Commas (,)
Note that the categorization results may be unintended because of the multi value separator.
  • Double Quotation ("), Single Quotation ('), Ampersand (&), Equal (=), Inequality (< and >), Plus (+), Big Parentheses ([ and ]), Slash (/)
They are included in HTML and JavaScript code and are subject to smaconne's sanitization, so if you use them, they may not be displayed as intended.
Please note if you use following characters.
  • Spaces in category value, periods (.)
Be aware that mixing categories separated by "\" and multiple categories may result in unintended categorization results in the Notes view.
